Update: more rejections from wealthy & (predominantly) white Christian churches but it seems churches in poorer & (predominantly) black communities are willing to practice what they preach. Shout out also to the Buddhist community.

An Islamic centre said yes without hesitation. Didn't ask one question about her faith, just how can we help you. I would bet the same reaction would come from a Sikh temple, a biker bar, the Santanic Temple or a drag bar.
