I grew up shooting all types of guns recreationally. I trained with various small arms and crew served weapons in the Air Force and provided an armed response for PL1 resources including ICBMs and Air Force One.
I don't stockpile weapons, I have different guns that do different things.

You can't buy a gun online from an FFL without a check. I'll agree with you on no sale without check. The NRA recently came out against disarming trans people. That's the only good thing I can say about them.

If states know others will rely on their standards, they tend to:
Maintain high training quality
Maintain clean and consistent vetting
Etc.
