Wondering how the Google sounds AI character is a dead ringer for my dog & the Amazon AI assistant is called Rufus (my son’s name)… real intelligence here :P

When we lost our tape player my kids bought me the first #StoneRoses album on vinyl - they knew how important it was to me. Have been playing these all day #Mani

Happy Yorkshire Day!

After much deliberation have decided this is the most Yorkshire photo in my extensive Yorkshire photo arsenal. Taken on the moor up above Haworth (home of the Brontë family) in 2019. Dogs & family present in other photos but trying to get the “wuthering” we all experienced!

You had to be there but I suspect many doodles deserve deeper consideration…

So just discovered my new stereo had turned itself on & had got to (or was playing) track 7 of the cd that was in there 😱 Lennon’s “Leonie” from the excellent Pop Psychedelique - les extras!

Bit spooked.

It would have been my dear old Dad’s birthday today. Here’s him on a swing on his birthday nine years ago … always one to embrace his inner child!

Just checked & no sign so hopefully rediscovered the nook where it got in. Will check again tomorrow as tragic how these birds get trapped & have found too many dead. Here, the long (not altogether unpleasant) climb home …

A House Martin trapped in my studio & have spent an hour attempting to cover up windows & coax it out through the door. I often arrive to find dead birds & so far have only managed to rescue one Blue Tit in a similar situation. Going back in a bit to have another go. It has plenty to eat & water 💔

Took these during last week’s #totp (in the B&B after the funeral) - it seems Tippi is a big Shakin’ Stevens fan - she got really excited!

The swallows are back - am being circled!!!

Perfect - well almost - just lacking someone sitting next to me - but Tippi doing her best to make up for it!

Would you, having had an anonymous stalker for two decades, be afraid if a person who repeatedly liked your replies to a certain satirical genius, then posted this?

Great day at the PAGES Artist book fair today at Leeds Art Gallery minding the School of Fine Art (Leeds Uni) table - felt a bit like Scumbag college opposite the Royal College of Art mind …

Another timely detail from past media: decided to watch The Young Ones episode “Boring” this evening, (largely because Madness are in it) & noticed the headline about Israel on Rick’s copy of the Guardian…

Recent thoughts & reflections #1

Mike Kelley (@ Tate Modern) strangely prophetic in this piece which distinctly echoes the attitude of my late mother’s Jack Russell who is persistently disobedient & burrows under the dog blankets to sleep on the surfaces said blankets are meant to protect …

Happy heavenly birthday to sculptor #FrancesDarlington born #OTD in 1880.
Pictured here outside her studio.
My granny’s aunt & the subject of my 2013 / 2016 biography - a revised edition of which is well overdue!

Spent the last couple of days dismantling a partition (set up in my studio a few years ago for an exhibition) to open up the space. In doing so rediscovered one of my film / scenery Hollywood paintings & one figure I’d always thought of as David Lynch - unfinished but top right with camera!

My prize for taking down the Christmas tree & celebrating my daughter’s birthday without my daughter (partying with pals).

I found the perfect frame & it is fab! Thank you for this affordable fundraising piece #StudioVoltaire & #JeremyDeller ⭐️

Happy Birthday to my daughter Jemima who is now 27.

27

It’s one thing coming to terms with your own age but aligning that of your children with it (& part of me has been on hold since I had her at 25) can be real existential crisis material! 🤪
