I disagree. Your word trap would have me avoid doing so, so as not to be considered dumb, but dumb as I may be (which I certainly am), I’ve been impressed with things he’s said many times. The problem is that for many, in particular the abandoned/disgruntled, that “gift” is enough to buy allegiance.

I think he’s really smart and makes many salient points really well. Despite rarely being succinct he does, in fact, speak to many people. This is precisely what makes him dangerous.

Smart people are not one dimensional comic-book-villain bad.

They know they have to give before they can receive.
