Yeah, governement are/have ditched it, but was mostly referring to private companies. Well, those that aren't already using Macs at least.

They've certainly built the console to last, unlike the Switch which has been running on fumes for a while. Crazy what devs have achieved on such "limited" hardware.

Well, look on the bright side, one of them involves SNK, so that's really only one game for you to get ;) (I dunno how the licencing agreement with SNK work though, I'm guessing they already got their money for that... 😬)

Wonder if things will ever get so bad, Windows will become the next Skype. At least for general public, I doubt companies and the likes will ever abandon the OS.

Somehow, it feels longer than 13 years.
And to think there has only been 1 full Nintendo gen since that console! Switch's longetivity is truly a sigh to behold.

Huh, looks like it was noscript blocking your .dev domain. Unblocked, and it works. But that's strange, because I don't remember ever needing to unblock it. Oh well. Works fine now (though I did lose all customisation and mute words, but that's no big deal). Thanks a bunch for the help!

(I'd like to specify that everything was working fine until the Cloudflare sh*t hit the fans, so it's possible it's something that's broken on Twitter's backend)

I dunno, this looks to me like the latest in the series of "too impressive to be true" Early Access scams on Steam that end up releasing so full of bug it makes your average Ubisoft game at launch look like the epitome of polish before devs mysteriously disappear 🤔

Some genuinely cool/interesting stuff in those early series, and the "wild" aspect of it really contributed to franchise popularity itself imho.
Stopped watching early in reboot series, and by then, series has long since fallen into "overly safe" zone.

Nowadays, this stuff wouldn't be banned, because it never would be greenlit in the first place. Extreme example, I know, maybe I should have picked up a more tame example :P But boy, those early series sure were a glorious mess in more ways than one 😂

Anime series really started "losing its soul" as time went on and the franchise grew. Not saying subsequent series are bad (they ain't, far from it!), but you can clearly tell the shift from the crazy early days, where "anything goes" was the rule, to the production committees days.

So bummed out, I haven't replay any HL game since, despite my periodically doing a new play through every few years or so. This bummed me out faaaaar more than even the total lack of game (that I didn't mind at all).
Oh well, life goes on, I guess. 🤔

As a huge fan, that announcement felt like a stab in the back 😅 I'm usually not the kind of person to get so worked up over something like that, but boy, did the whole thing bummed me out. A Half-Life game I couldn't play and would likely never play? My poor heart 😭
