Unboxing “Liminal Space” after exhibiting in the Surreal Salon at Baton Rouge Gallery. Feels good to see her again before delivery to the collector’s home!

What’s a small detail in an artwork that spoke to you?
I often include flowers in my work to represent grief or loss. Particularly petals falling on the ground.

“When A Minute Lasts An Hour”
Oil on panel

This was the painting that began my love for immortalizing the places we spend our time, temporary or lasting.

While I’ve been working with charcoal since 2010, and oil paint since 2013, I didn’t have the guts to expand into another medium until 2023. I’m so glad I finally did. Pastel feels like the happy middle (and so much easier to take out for plein air than oil)! #rosegarden #portlandoregon #pastel #art
