Weird how well it all can work when a community acknowledges the impacts of climate change and comes together to develop solutions within the framework of a functioning and supportive local government instead of just sticking their fingers in their ears and every-man-for-himselfing it.

The temporary levee the city installed along the Mendenhall River this year protected hundreds of homes nearby. But water still leaked through some sections and flooded several streets and homes.
