I took an extended social media break. I understand that the ability to remove myself from exposure to what is going on is privilege, but I needed that time. I went on walks and read, and I feel ready to continue resisting.

Media is rightly reporting the GOP’s attack on DEI, but it’s misleading. The acronym is DEIA: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility. Clearly, those hardworking Americans who deserve a shot at the American Dream cannot be black or brown, women, LGBTQIA, or disabled 😡.

On a not political note, our sweet kitty had an ultrasound today to see if the several weeks worth of antibiotics and steroids he’s been on have cleared up an infection. Good news ❤️! He’s doing much better. If the bloodwork results look good, we can at least take him off of the antibiotics.

Our local heron sits in the same spot on most days right around dinner time, and I look forward to seeing them when I go for my walk. Just a little peace 💙.

I’m enjoying G. M. Malliet’s A Demon Summer while I try to pretend it’s Jan. 2015 instead of Jan. 2025. Read, craft, drink hot tea, go for a walk, or play a board game with your little ones. Do what you need to create peace because we need to get ready for the next four years and, possibly, beyond.

I’m enjoying G. M. Malliet’s A Demon Summer while I try to pretend it’s Jan. 2015 instead of Jan. 2025. Read, craft, drink hot tea, go for a walk, or play a board game with your little ones. Do what you need to create peace because we need to get ready for the next four years and, possibly, beyond.
