Sculptor of ridiculously difficult to package porcelain artwork. You’ll see coral, skulls, nudibranchs, moons, mushrooms, lichen and comets, all with complicated textures, some with rainbow colours. Bristol, UK

PEARL-a self-explanatory ocean name. Just a touch of ash glaze on this one. The qualities of the fired, unglazed porcelain are so lovely, almost like alabaster.

And another. This one is named Laccadive Sea.

In my hand this time, to give a better idea of scale. My pieces are small, but highly detailed.

Painted for a wonderful patron who requested a hopeful faery... a faery of light, a faery of warmth, of love, of hope and happiness. A faery who welcomes back the light, pushes back the darkness and sings songs of wishes for the future. Happy holidays, merry Xmas, happy Yule to all.

Another of the 100 teardrop-shaped wall sculptures, all based on different areas of sea. This one is named Sea of Japan.

Still some more to glaze. I hope to display them all together at some point.

Another batch out of the kiln.

I always use commercial underglazes and glazes and I’m happy to let you know the names of them…just ask!

We had sun last week!

Unglazed porcelain can glow with strong sunlight behind it if it’s thin enough.

EUPHEME- a moon of Jupiter

Available (amongst others) on my website lisaseaurchin.co.uk from 5pm BST this afternoon.

First mushroom out of the mould, I wasn’t sure if I’d have it fired in time for tomorrow’s #gameofshrooms created by @attayumfactory on Insta. Not sure where I’ll hide it yet. South Bristol or North Somerset somewhere!

Pieces in the kiln, slowly heating up. It usually takes around 24hours to reach temperature and another 24hours to cool down, before I can see the results! They’ll be brighter once fired.

There are another two shelves.

IRAS- Coral Comet

Comets are usually named after whomever discovered them, but this one is named after IRAS (Infrared Astronomical Telescope.) It was discovered in photos taken by the telescope.

Another ring-shaped wall sculpture, named after an impact crater.

This one is MIZARAI, named after a buried impact crater in Druskininkai, in Lithuania. It is estimated to be 500 million to 570 million years old and was found during an international seismic survey.

I’ve started another series. I made a ring-shaped former so I thought I’d name these pieces after impact craters.

This is AOROUNGA, named after an eroded impact crater in Chad, in the Sahara Desert. It is estimated to be less than 345 million years old.
