Recovering lawyer. Voracious reader and lover of sci-fi and fantasy. I bake, knit, and am learning piano in retirement because three decades of law practice wasn’t humbling enough.
Not only building camps but also selling “Alligator Alcatraz” merch. They are reveling in the suffering they are causing. It’s sick.

Elon’s accusing Trump for sitting on the Epstein files because Trump is in them is pretty big. Of course we know Trump is in the files, but Elon saying it to his massive number of twitter followers is momentous. And it’s just fun watching the implosion of these two massive narcissists.

I loved Service Model. Recently reread it and will read again at some point.

This entire series is great. I’m anxiously awaiting book four.

I devoured it. And absolutely loved it.

Learning to make wood fired pizza in the pizza oven I got on sale so I can get my pizza fix when it’s too expensive to go out for good pizza. Pizza is the most perfect food in the world (other than waffles).

Is my check in the mail?

The thought occurred to me as well, but I refuse to cower in fear to that asshole.

Jackson, Mississippi! Deep red maga country. Early estimates are that about 400 or so people showed. Thats a big deal here.

I feel that pink sign so much.

Also attacks on lawyers and the judiciary. There’s a reason Shakespeare said “the first thing we do is, let’s kill all the lawyers.”

How else are they going to pay for tax cuts for the billionaires?

Just in time for my birthday! I preordered it, and I cannot wait to read it. Perfect distraction for these fraught times.

I know. It’s just exhausting and dispiriting, but I will enjoy watching when they finally turn on their king. I wish it didn’t take personal adversity to wake the people up, though.

I respect where you’re coming from. I’m just not there yet. I’m in a red state surrounded by evangelicals who believe god put Trump into power to save this country (I guess from democracy) and who laughed off the dictator on day one comments.

You are correct about the flag waving and religious aspect (which defies all logic) and the “democrats bad” propaganda many of these folks have been exposed to doesn’t help. I still have no sympathy for people who vote against their interests because they were too lazy to become better informed.
February 22, 2025 at 3:19 AM
Exactly. They were perfectly fine with other people’s civil rights being eroded, so I have trouble mustering any sympathy.

She said whilst doomscrolling on Bluesky, haha.

As a voracious reader in the US, I’m begging you and other authors to please promote your books. Reading is about the only thing that is keeping me from succumbing to despair right now, and it’s the only thing that can pry me away from doomscrolling 24/7.
