“WV is hoping for $60 million” but the bottom line is $24 million paid over 3 years. The low price paid for human lives shows their true values. The state of WV is a tragedy…and the people suffer.

I Hate It Here, Please Vote For Me received a wonderful review in the Appalachian Journal!!

Ferrence’s experience and commentary on the current polarizing political landscape feels particularly relevant, and Josh Howard agrees. Read the rest in the Summer 2025 issue.

"three-quarters of patients served by West Virginia hospitals rely on Medicare, Medicaid and PEIA"

A large part of our population (like my partner with a chronic illness) live near borders and get most care out of state. Recently Medicaid stopped crossing state lines stranding many folks I know 😞

VICTORY: A court has ruled the WV Water Development Authority unconstitutionally granted funds to an out-of-state religious school.

We’ve said all along it's inappropriate for public infrastructure money to fund religious education and advocacy. This is a big win for church-state separation.

This is the correct move by the Board of Education. The Constitution doesn't allow the governor to ignore laws he doesn't like.
