Shon Faye getting us to face the bleak reality of trans rights and trans life in Britain today.

One week, three disastrous announcements from the government on asylum. Decisions that will mean more lives lost, more injustice faced, more people sleeping on the streets. The latest of these - the suspension of family reunion for refugees, happening as early as this week - is truly deplorable.

Just finished the Hackney Half Marathon for the third time. I ran for a Free Palestine and for trans liberation and for always fighting for something better than this. The love from the crowd was amazing as ever, a lot of shouts of Go Palestine, Free Palestine (and Go Lisa ❤️🙂).

Remember when you were writing an essay at school and you didn't really know what you were talking about so you'd go for a bold underlined conclusion in the hope that people won't look too closely at the content?

A beautiful article by my friend and team-mate Noor, who I feel so lucky to know, on being part of the lost generation of footballers (she is astonishingly, 58 and absolutely bosses it on the pitch) and what football has given her.

Things feel particularly bleak at the moment so I'm very glad to have something good to share - I helped make this short film with incredible young people at Young Roots and the amazing, patient and compassionate film-makers Tony Gammidge and Majid Adin.

"Nearly every Cypriot family -Greek and Turkish- know relatives and friends that have been imprisoned and deported. And this because the Home Office has decided to force thousands of refugees to become illegal by refusing to extent their visa.”

Very interesting refugee, anti-deportation history

Fantastic game from @claptoncfc.co.uk WNB reserves this morning on sunny Hackney Marshes. What a way to win the league, against excellent opposition. And so exciting to see Teju playing (and scoring) again!

Hope Alice is going to trial herself 🧤 @claptoncfc.co.uk what a stand in goalie/gaffer!

I'm so proud of being involved with the making of this short film - it was a beautiful experience and I saw a side of the young people who took part that was so moving and special.

Sadly I will not be able to defend my title as potato-rolling-champion at this year's @claptoncfc.co.uk Christmas party due to illness so the field is WIDE OPEN 🥔

In the House of Lords right now, Baroness Lister is sharing the story of Sayed, who was supported by Young Roots. Sayed's situation shows why 28 days is not long enough for newly granted refugees to find a new home- he ended up sleeping in the car park of his former asylum hotel.

Just last night a young person I have worked with asked me if I thought the prime minister had read their letters about refugee homelessness. I'm glad the government listened and has increased the move on period to 56 days

Despite terrible weather conditions yesterday (running imto crosswinds saps my energy so much!) there was a lovely atmosphere at the REDRUN, raising money in solidarity with people living with HIV and remembering lives lost
