IDK what prompted this and would not tell anyone to stop (I love sarcasm), but one challenge is that it rarely works in writing. Readers miss verbal and physical cues that sarcasm is intended. It’s worse for non-native English speakers. Someone should invent a universal sarcasm font or emoji. 🙂

Thanks so much. I try to go to the source when possible, but don’t want to boost things indiscriminately.

PS-I’m sure I can locate the article so no worries.

Thanks for the reply. I’m not a professional historian, just a lawyer, but my preferred recreational reading is history. A whole section of my home library is devoted to WWI and WWII and European history. Thanks to professor T. Snyder, I am now delving into Central and Eastern European History.

Sorry to ask—I’m still learning the mechanics of using this app, but is there a link to the article?

One more positive byproduct of their own subscription: without any input from me, kid, who usually reads fantasy and light lit, recently finished The Hot Zone and Ta Nehisi Coats’ new book and had Tim Snyder’s Bloodlands on her Christmas list. We never know how much sinks in! Happy New Year.

I agree—this is better from an emotional standpoint, but I used that other app primarily as a news aggregator, mostly for mainstream news media (newspapers, major publications). I rarely posted—I’m not an influencer and I don’t sell anything. But I would like to find the news orgs here.

Oh. And upside: the kid might read an actual news article now and then. 🥳

If you are a subscriber you can give two people a free account. I gave one to my hubby and one to my kid. Give one to your kid and they can do their own puzzle without ruining it for you. 🙂
