I had to laugh. After my daughter took several rhetoric classes in college, I could no longer convince her of anything. Money well spent. She is very aware of manipulation and presents responses beautifully.

Agreed. I keep wondering if I am overreacting because no one in my daily life seems concerned. Then I come here and realize I am sane after all.

My voice is small compared to so many, I don't think fear is a concern. If it gets to a point where 63 year old white women with no influence are a threat, we will be very far down the road. I speak out because there are so many others for whom speaking out is much more dangerous.

A person living in the area commented that the National Parks folks in the area generally help with notification and evac. They had all been fired and were not available to do that work. Not sure this is true but found it plausible.
