Medical e-resources librarian; previously local history & public librarian. Endlessly curious. Views are my own. she/her
Got called a rock star by a patron for a fast turn around on a literature search. Found them some really great articles. Feeling good today

Having worked as a genealogy and local history librarian has skewed my sense of time and what’s considered old. Still adjusting to materials from the 2000s or 1990s being considered old, although it makes total sense in the medical/scientific world

Got my flu shot on Tuesday and looking forward to the COVID booster once they are available here!
COVID and Flu shots acquired.

The COVID shots are still so much lighter than the flu ones.

Go get vaccinated - if not for your sake, then for those around you.

Thinking about “librarian neutrality” this morning. It’s something I exercise as much as possible in my professional life, but as Howard Zinn said, “you can’t be neutral on a moving train.” And as Elie Wiesel said, “neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim.”

Even if the recent Hachette case has limited the scope of the Internet Archive's lending library, the amount of useful, rare, old, super-interesting books in the archive is *bonkers.* If you're not consulting it, you're missing out.
As a freelance translator living in a small town & working outside of a university system, Graeme Currie relies on Internet Archive for access to research materials. 🛜📚 Learn more about Currie's work in our latest research profile: blog.archive.org/2023/08/28/w...
