Today I have a special deep sea fish that I want to share with you. This crocheted miniature represents an oarfish, which is a quite mysterious creature and I just loved it when I first saw one!
As always crocheted with up-cycled ghost gear.

I made this one a couple of weeks ago but didn’t manage to share it.
Better late than never!

With this art I want to do something for the oceans even if it’s very small at the moment. I want to make something good out of these animal death traps which are floating around.

In memory of all the sea turtles out there.

This is the 6th fish I made. He is a bit bigger than the previous ones. I used the blue thread again and orange for the highlights, it was good to work this way. The thread is from the ghost ropes again.
Guess I will make some more and I’ll try other sea life.

When I made this little fish I thought of a pufferfish. In the end he became a goldfish, which I find cool because I never thought about the classic goldfish we all know. That’s the great opportunity when you stay curious about what the art you make tells about yourself.

The fourth fish crocheted with collected plastic threads. This time I took blue and green. The colours fit nicely together and they reflect the nuances of the ocean. Fiske No 4.

This is the third crocheted fish. He is a bit more like the first one but still different. The colours are reversed and this one has lips and is longer.
The concept is the same, the used material is thread from a recycled plastic rope collected at the same beach. Fiske No 3

The second small fish is blue and orange. It is crocheted with plastic filaments from former ship ropes. They were collected at the beach at Texel, Netherlands. #art

Melolontha melolontha this year a bit early (1. picture). A really beautiful male, you can see it on the leafs of his antennas. Males got seven and females six.
(2. picture) Adela reaumurella a really beautiful and kind of crazy mini moth. The antennas of the male get triple the length of the wings.

The second small insect head is inspired by ants. Its color is a bit different than the first ones but it is also recycled silk. Here the focus lies a bit more on the shape.

This is the first experiment I crocheted.
It’s a very large butterfly-head-mask including a overall.

It took me very long to crochet it and I started twice with the main head, but it was really fun for me. I admit that it is not really a prototype it is to big and detailed.
I like the way it went!

Sweet little butterfly and first work I made this way.
He is crocheted out of recycled silk and unique in its colours and form.
The work is inspired by male moths and butterflies.
More of these specimens are coming soon!
