The word "oak" comes from the Old English word "ac," which referred to both the tree and its fruit, the acorn.

"Tantalize" is named after Tantalus, a Greek mythological figure who was eternally punished with unreachable food & drink. So close, yet so far.

As opposed to all the other years when they were killing Black people and being punished for it right?
Well you take your ass out there and get killed because that is what they want to do.
They have the immunity to do so without penalty or afterthought.
Its so funny when yall do this whole “Black people this isn’t our fight” song and dance because first of all who the fuck are you 😭😭

I love a cheeky little artsy TV series like High Maintenance where you get to meet all different types of characters just living their lives and sometimes you see them again and sometimes you don’t

Mind the Gap: The Unsettling Effects of Head Hopping in Fiction
A powerful narrative is one that is immersive and engaging. Anything that distracts or confuses will pull readers out of the story, of which head hopping is a prime example.

No clue why so many people’s response to recent uprisings is “see this is what DT wanted all along so now he can martial law 🤓🤓” when what about anything we’ve seen this past decade alone gives he’s a person that works within the boundaries of the law

So on a serious note…about Ginny & Georgia (😅), Max’s story this season was a tough watch as someone who relates so strongly to it.

The start of ep9 made it fairly obvious to me that they were leaning into the idea she’s neurodivergent. I’ve now read the creator say that. And they did it SO well 🪡

I found a TikTok of a guy who’s secretly reviewing his wife’s skincare products until she discovers his account and he reviews it like it’s prose. I love it!

Oh???!!!
This is really good news for Thames Water customers.
Predatory KKR was so bad they were nicknamed "Barbarians at the gate" in the US.
It is time the government stopped dithering and took Thames Water into public ownership. It's what 82% of the public wants.
