I actually had a dream like this the other day.. I should draw it.

Realizing that allowing people to believe otherwise or not correcting- in a way had me also believing.. In the process erasing where I come from and where my family comes from. I’m sure I’m not the only person who has felt this way before, but I don’t want to keep erasing that because of how I look.

It just feels frustrating and dismissive when people assume due to the color of anything. In general.
I hope this year to start reconnecting with all sides and talking to those sides of my family more. I want to be able to continue on the culture and heritage until I pass on-I think it’s important.

My native side I haven’t reached out to, but someday I’d like to reclaim that part of my heritage. I know I benefit from “white privledge,” as I am, but it doesn’t erase where my culture and family are from. It’s why my “me”sona is a chimera, I’m a bit of everything and these are the genetics dealt.

They remind me of like comic panels! It gives them such a nice touch and extra flair!! I hope these sell!! 🔥🔥🔥

Take things with a grain of salt and unless you have overwhelming evidence I don’t care what is said about someone at this point. Perception is different for everyone. Everyone can lie or have done bad things. No one is truly a saint. You can only live life trying to do the least amount of damage.

This is a very true statement- at the same time a lot of folks don’t even realize that they are defending their “friends,” who do the same thing. It’s a double edge sword, and not knowing that you are in a battle- having trusted the words of the sword wielder that can and would turn it on you.

I started doing my own production for my own artwork etc, and it’s been significantly better because I control the entirety of my product/creations- quality, quantity, price, etc.

Having your work be exploited commercially is hard and on many levels wrong when your work is your “baby.”

They are there to help and I wouldn’t let the guilt get to you because that’s what they are there for- to help- and ensure folks are fed. It’s hard times for all.

Are there food banks near you? It helps a lot. You just have to go early/wait etc.
