Is nothing sacred? Those posters in-game and promo art that used Gen-AI could have easily been made by the artists in the studio.

Ugh, what a waste. Thank you for the info, really appreciate it!

I can't access twitter unfortunately, but do you remember if genai was used in the game as well, or was it used in the promo art? Doesn't help either way, they should have known better, but I'm just curious at this point.

Aaaand the game may have some Gen AI assets, as I just learned a minute ago. Gross.

I don't think a game hooked me in like the beginning of that game before. The camera angles, the soul crushing repetitive tasks, the slow pace, the footstep sfx, the convent architecture, it all fed into each other.

Indika has Gen AI??

What did the quoted tweet say? It's deleted now.

Lol, another generation of lead-poisoned brains

This kind of thing happens to experienced coders working when with AWS as well. Adding AI to the mix is such a dangerous combination for people who never coded anything.

That's how bad the situation must be.

It’s not a flash game, it’s a web game made with three.js

I remember them being referred as visual placeholders, or content loaders.

This change is either going to increase donations to you-know-who, or increase the already ongoing outsourcing, since Americans can never compete with wages outside US. Either way, the classic Republican rhetoric of "hire more Americans, hire locally" will never work and they know it.

To all H1-b visa holders, I feel your pain, you must be scared confused and angry. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I hope you all survive this terrible decision.

I think this wage reduction is something these tech companies have been very excited to execute since COVID. Like course correction for the always increasing salaries they pay for the software engineers. AI allowed them an excuse to have constant layoffs + make hiring an almost impossible task.
September 20, 2025 at 2:15 PM
The rhetoric has always been "hire American, pay more for local skills", but I don't see tech companies, who have been inventing new ways to pay employees less (*cough* AI *cough*), to start doing that. What will most likely happen is the wages will be reduced even further.

One other thing to remember: college students who want to work in US usually go from OPT (after and during college work visa) to H1-b. That's how it always has been. This is going to make it infinitely harder for college grads to stay and work in the US moving forward.
