It does fit into the long liberal history of "oh, you don't understand why they're not fighting for your rights, because they're playing a complicated political long game" and then their master plan is some flop of a mediocre statement amid a disastrous failure.

This isn't even a case like the defeat of the trans medicaid ban earlier this year, where her pr flacks could try to jump on an actual grassroots victory and claim she made it happen with behind the scenes magic or some such hokum. This was a flat out loss due to Dems siding with the far-right.
