I think it might also help to protect the high cross-border fares for Lyria. Paris-Bellegarde is much cheaper than Paris-Geneva, esp. with SNCF discount cards. Not having later LEX trains or a Bellegarde-Geneva TGV fare forces you to go all the way on an expensive fare

What exactly is the plan to enable "more night trains"? Currently they are dying out with high costs and old rolling stock and few operators able or prepared to invest in new trains and new routes, especially international ones. How is the EC planning to enable more trains against this backdrop?

Hence on paper the timetable actually seems better than before, even with extra changes.

But of course SNCF runs a diesel train on an electrified line 😅

I live in Geneva, I'd be surprised if that would work, especially commercially as Lancy & Stade are far from the centre. Sécheron would arguably be better located but a lot of work still. But if you come here then feel free to let me know, food/drinks on me!

I feel this, living in 🇨🇭 as a 🇩🇪 and travelling to BFC often. 1 TGV FFM-Marseille is a joke, as are the 4 weekday-only TERs from Vallorbe. I once wrote an e-mail to M. Neugnot on the lack of services on BFC's cross-border lines. He actually replied asking for my phone number but then never called 🥲

Worth pointing out as not communicated by DB is that coming from Cheb taking trains via Marktredwitz and Weiden can get you to Nürnberg faster than the busses as there can be long timetable gaps. Marktredwitz-Weiden is also a quite scenic line
