Retired mathematician residing in Maine.

Mostly into tech, including a passing interest in retro gaming - which I'm thinking will pass after I've wasted a bunch of money on it. I do that sort of thing, treating life and hobbies as though they're a buffet.
I'm pretty old. It required knowing a lot more to use older computers. The various generations of hardware and software made it easier and easier. I sometimes wonder if that was a good thing, not because I want to gatekeep but because so much of the modern scene is pure garbage.

They do that in Maine. Some of the minimum security inmates in Charlseton are firefighters for forest fires. They make much more than that, I believe. It's not a whole lot more than that, but it's more than that. Also, I'm not 100% sure that they still do this.

Ah, you're finally getting old. Congratulations! It happens to the best of us, just with different generations of music. As an officially old man, especially one with a lot of history with music, I've experienced this multiple times.

You'll probably not get over it.

i lived in such a world. I predate even the earliest of video games, as far as I know. I certainly predate any commercial video games.

We didn't miss video games back then, because we didn't know they existed. We had other games and I was an avid book reader. I was 13 in 1970, so it'd be a while.

Hmm... I finally signed up. I saw the link in your profile before but decided to take the plunge today. I'm not normally into this sort of thing but at least I "know" a few of the folks who are here already. So, if I decide I don't like it, I'll just blame you! 😀
