As an American, we're told we're #1 for freedom of speech. And we're told Europe is close up there too.
Often, the only people complaining about a lack of freedom of speech are either spreading hate speech or doing something illegal.
I was pointing out scammers, and that was not welcome. Ironic.

I had 1 million followers on Twitter. When I joined the Fediverse, I had 12,000. I felt good because I was escaping Elon Musk and all that goes with it. But because I had to keep jumping from Fedi site to Fedi Site, I now have about 700 followers. I also had to start over twice.

Often, to say things correctly and clearly, it would be at least 2,000 characters. The idea of having many posts, spanned over a thread, just to say 1 thing, would drive me nuts.
Nothing usual and informative would work on BlueSky.
