I am reworking the intermediate representation of my programming language and just got rewrite rules to work. Instructions are completely user-defined and multiple dialects can be mixed. This will be very useful for optimizations and backends.

advent of code in your own language is very fun until you have to write the worst code ever because you don't have break/continue and introduce bugs due to having to write while instead of for loops
