My experience editing FTV is that this is little to do with budget or training, but a change in taste. Continuity issues are noticed, but if the take works for a different reason, it is a lower priority than it was in the past. The % of viewers who care about this is also very small!

Yes there is a Zuckerberg shaped hole in this otherwise compelling argument.

1. Apple - seems cliche now but their 2000s focus on creativity did open up the industry for a lot of people.

2. YouTube - lots more opportunities to get paid to edit rather than assist at the start of your career.

3. Dropbox - would go nuts bouncing between desktop and laptop without it!
