Yesterday, the Linnean Library was graced with a group of keen knitters, gathered for an afternoon to learn how to #knit like a Victorian

Based on knitting patterns held in the Linnean Society archive belonging to Lady Pleasance Smith, attendees had the chance to create some #nature based patterns🍁

One of our Fellows has co-curated a fascinating exibition of Indian botanical art. Henry Noltie & Sita Reddy chose 52 drawings by Indian artists, and where possible identified the artists responsible.
'Flora Indica’ is on at the Sherwood Gallery, Kew until 12 April 2026.

📸 A cyanotype is a type of photography - a technique using no cameras, but instead a special solution of light-sensitive salts, which is exposed to UV light and then washed
