All this to say, please be safe. These scams are quickly evolving and the fact that they can pass legitimacy checks where truly applicable is actually even wilder to me. The fact it targets ARTISTS IN PARTICULAR is infuriating. I also managed to get another cookie cutter email:

After seeing this, I didn't respond any further, because I said EOM, I would work to get the money deposited (lmao). The following day, I started looking about Nomilance again, and was met with 4 different testimonies. One recently being NAVA. All their marks were artists.

and they sounded loud. As the moment I typed it into Google, I was met with several "shells"— Sites that had the same DNA, info. The only way you could tell was via that singular number. I stopped ALL activities except with the client. Upon asking if I was paid, they said this (#2):

During this time, it didn't sit with me. So I wanted to contact my "client" who was actually sitting and being patient with me. I went to look for a number on the Nomilance website. Since it was long distance, I did a background check on the phone number. The alarms went.

I had my gripes because they never told me, but nevertheless, I paid (Mistake 2).
Then, I got this and was reasonably pissed. It was also at this point, I was starting to wise up. I told them that I cannot do anything until the end of this month, so please be patient.

Like above, it reflected in my account. When I went to take out funds, I was met with a big red sign that mentioned that there is additional authorization needed to take out the funds & put them into my intn'l account. (Again, fair. Banks do this.) More money to facilitate.

These were all done in timely manner, as I don't like to keep clients waiting and always maintain consistent conversation with them. Once that was confirmed, they "sent the other half" and it was available in my account. I could see it, receipts & PO (Purchase Order) in tow.

This was where the first alarm bells went off in my head. I thought it to be a scam originally because I had fulfilled the first part, but some banks do withhold money for accounts you never made deposits in, so I waved it off in my brain. Still, did multiple checks. Passed.

When I accepted and completed the work, they had "sent" me the money, an invoice (fake, but legit enough to pass checks) and they had asked me for my payment method, which I gave (I do business overseas).
They told me it was fulfilled. I got this from the "bank":
