A doodle of my original characters Kira and Dr. Haru, the AU version of himself. They are both considered part of the Linkage universe despite it not being possible for them to actually coexist. Dr. Haru is seen happily shaking Kira's hand in a way that is so out of character that it seems threatening. Kira's hand is trembling from unsuccessfully attempting to pull his hand out of Dr. Haru's grasp. He seems very bothered by the kind gesture and can tell it has malice because he can't let go. Kira is wearing his Main Outfit which consists of a dark grey dress shirt, light grey dress pants, a reddish-black vest with a (fake) right breast pocket, and a bright red tie tucked into the vest. Dr. Haru wears a black tie and bright red dress shirt tucked into black pants. They both wear black gloves. The idea of StAn Kira and Dr. Haru existing together has always been a joke, so I thought it'd be a silly thing to draw for April Fool's Day.

He is from the Linkage universe and only has one canon story, but there are two variants of it. In the middle is Kira from Starting Anew, the revamped version of the original story. StAn Kira is wearing his Main Outfit that consists of small round glasses, a big red gem drop earring, a dark grey dress shirt, a reddish-black vest with a (fake) right breast pocket, and a bright red tie tucked into the vest. He has a somewhat distressed or upset expression from being surrounded by two versions of himself that are more dangerous than he is. On the left is the original version of Kira's design. This version of Kira only wears a black dress shirt, a dark red tie, and black gloves. His glasses are a bit smaller, and his gem earring is a diamond instead of a rigid teardrop shape. His hair is also straighter and less fluffy. He has a devious expression because this version of Kira was known to be more violent. On the right is Dr. Haru, an alternate universe of the OG Kira where he is a more intense yandere and real threat. He has shorter hair that's a dark blue like the tips of Kira's hair. Dr. Haru wears a grey suit jacket with a small silver circle pin on the collar, along with a black tie; his dress shirt is a bright red, as are his eyes. His glasses are round but sized big enough to cover his eyes from his eyebrows to the bottom of his nose. He has the most intimidating expression and has a baseball bat on his shoulder. His earring is not visible. The three of them cannot coexist as only StAn Kira is considered a canon story now, but it was interesting to compare them side by side. He has a finger in front of his lips, hinting at the fact that his story is no longer talked about considering how different it is from the new canon story. One of the biggest differences he has from StAn Kira aside from his glasses and earring is his eye shape; his lashes are much thinner and longer. It makes his eyes appear narrower, which gives him a hint of deviousness no matter what expression he has. A cropped version of the same drawing that zooms in on StAn Kira's face. Some of the changes I made to his design over time were making his eyelashes thicker and drawing his irises bigger, making his glasses a bit bigger and higher up on his face, curling his hair a bit, and making his earring less pointed. Although his eye shape changed naturally over time, everything else was a conscious decision I made when revamping his design. A cropped version of the same drawing that zooms in on Dr. Haru's face. Dr. Haru's design is almost like an inverted version of Kira, which was accidental believe it or not. I made his hair a more consistent dark blue to show that he actually keeps up with dying his hair on a regular basis. It's more jagged and uneven to show he still regularly takes his frustrations out on his hair by cutting it. He has a red tongue piercing, and his (hidden) earring is a tiny red smooth teardrop shape. The only difference to his design that isn't technically possible as a story that branches off the OG Kira story is that his eyes are red instead of orange. I made this decision because many people thought Kira's eyes were red given the way I shaded them, so I thought it'd be a fun reference.

He has one thick silver ring on his middle finger and a thin silver one on his index finger (he's single guys). For some background, Leo is the receptionist at Kira's office that greets visitors and patients that walk in. He's very friendly and energetic, so he brings a fun energy to the workplace. However, Kira's introverted nature means he doesn't want anything to do with Leo, despite how often Leo tries to include him in conversations and after-work activities. Even so, Leo doesn't mind Kira being closed off and still remains interested in him as a person, so he never fails to reach out to invite Kira to things, even if he knows Kira will politely decline. Overall, their relationship is very one-sided, and Kira finds Leo exhausting to be around; he thinks he's annoying but doesn't fault him for being kind.

Dr. Haru stands confidently with his arms crossed and one leg bent while turning to face Kira. Kira appears disinterested and a bit annoyed and is facing away to avoid getting attention as much as possible. Dr. Haru has a few sparkles next to his head to show his playful cockiness, while Kira has an ellipsis next to him. Dr. Haru is an alternate universe of Kira where the timeline branches off into a different story once Kira gets into college. He is essentially the evil version of Kira that actually falls under the yandere category, which was the case for Kira in the old story but is no longer accurate. What is known as "Dr. Haru" is a completely separate character from Kira despite sharing the same name. A cropped version of the previous drawing that cuts off at their waists. Although their vision is the same, they have different glasses frame preferences. Kira wears small circular bifocals that sit low on his face; he prefers to have the ability to look over his glasses to see in front of him because he is far-sighted. Dr. Haru on the other hand wears large circular rimless glasses because he wants his field of vision to be as corrected as possible as to not miss anything in his peripheral vision. Dr. Haru's hair is a darker blue gradient because he dyes his hair more frequently to keep it dark. Kira's hair fades from cyan at the roots to a light blue to a deep vibrant blue at the ends; his hair has faded over time, but the dye was strong enough to stain his hair to be darker. He mentions in the original introduction video that he doesn't need to dye it often, but that is because his hair grows much slower than it used to due to stress, so his roots don't show much. The only difference between them that is totally illogical is the fact that Dr. Haru's eyes are red while Kira's are orange. This is a reference to how people used to think Kira's eyes were red because of how I shaded them as a blood orange. It also helps differentiate the two of them since they are technically the same person. Fun fact: Dr. Haru regularly goes for jogs and exercises, so he has more muscle and also has a slightly darker skin tone compared to Kira. Kira spends as much time inside away from people as possible, and he has a poor eating schedule, so he is lighter and thinner.

He doesn't want to pass his cold to the Viewer by being around them too much. There is an implication that the Viewer knows he wants attention but is trying to put their well-being first. The speech balloon reads, "W-wait, Dear! I don't want you falling ill as well..!" The drawing is mostly cell shaded with a warm evening glow for lighting. Kira's favourite time of day is when the sun is setting and the sky is warm colours, which is likely why he is awake. An alternate version of the previous drawing without the speech balloon. Both drawings have my watermark that reads "Dr. Kira Haru" and have no other differences.

When I was younger, I would adjust my square glasses by grabbing the frame.
I try to avoid touching my current frame as to not smudge the lenses.
I have caught myself using my middle finger to gently push them up by the bridge. I hope it is not seen as offensive... that is never my intention.

There are many meticulous details such as thin strands of stray hairs, thin highlights/borders for emphasis, and a mix of blending and sharp edges for the shading. If you look closely, you'll see there are the letters "K" and "H" in his irises; I put one letter of his initials as extra highlight details. His hair alone took roughly 2 and a half hours to paint, and I ended up adding onto it later on LOL A cropped version of the same painting that zooms in on Kira's torso to make more of the smaller details easier to see. This makes the details on his sleeves and vest clearer. The dress shirt was the part that took the second longest to paint at almost an hour and a half, but it was totally worth it and lowkey fun lol
