Quite possibly making this for only an audience of myself, but we ball.

Given my struggle with solving Higurashi and Umineko I may end up way off the mark, but since I've got more time to think and can engage in discussion without being spoiled I'm hoping to have fun with it! I will try really hard to not fall for unreliable narration a 3rd time! lol

I think he looks cool here, but to each their own. At least he looks like less of a nerd than Azusa lol.

I honestly can't tell. There's not detailed enough art of smith to compare haha. I was going by the body type combined with the headwear, but they're missing the chest marking.
Unrelated, but I just got reminded how good Link's engineer outfit is in ST.

I haven't actually seen this. Is he supposed to be based on Gonzo/Alfonzo?

Is it while she's captured, after she's rescued, or an au type thing?

Overall, I enjoyed the game and am greatly anticipating Orca Layout's continued releases! I've continued to enjoy what they put out as interesting stories with cool monster designs and gay women in complicated situations. (8/8)

I wasn't personally a huge fan of the main theme for the game, but generally the soundtrack does a serviceable job in supporting the game's tone. Few tracks jumped out at me, but they were all pleasant enough to listen to as I read. It's not yet available to download at present. (7/8)

Another new feature in this game vs. their previous work is the addition of voice acting! It's only in the original language, but that was also how I played WTC so I'm used to it. It's interesting to see the VAs' takes on the characters as they can shift my own views. (6/8)

This was a really interesting creative decision that I was a fan of. Though, I did not pick up on it until partway through the game when looking up the octopus statue and seeing that the where it was found was actually called Piano Island in real life too haha. (5/8)

The backgrounds are often edited photos similar to the WTC games. This likely stemmed from the choice to have it set in the real city of Xiamen (厦门市) and its adjacent island Gulangyu (鼓浪屿). Referred to in-game by Egret City and the nickname Piano Island respectively. (4/8)

Translation issues include a handful of untranslated lines (that I have reported to the publisher) as well as inconsistent pronouns and occasional typos. I couldn't really tell what pronouns to use for any of the non-human characters with how much it switched them. (3/8)

More in-depth, there's a noticeable step up in quality with the animated sequences compared to The Chrono Jotter. Additionally, I had fewer issues with the UI than in it. Choices still don't make a huge difference, but it's an interesting story regardless. (2/8)
