Apart from the river crossings there isn't much to see on the Swansea District Line as it spends a lot of time in cuttings, tunnels and trees with the odd bit of scenery. Worth a mention is the Work of Art cate on Port Talbot Parkway station bridge with a view over the tracks.

A more interesting lesser used line in the south west of Wales is the Swansea District leaving the Heart of Wales line at Morlais Junction and rejoins the South Wales Main Line at Briton Ferry. Class 197 on duty and soon after Morlais Junction the line crosses the Loughor, Tawe and Neath rivers.

Another lesser used line in the south west of Wales is the Carmarthen avoiding line. Started at Swansea with a Class 150 journying to Whitland. This was a busy 'boat train' onwards to Fishguard. The line avoids the reversal at Carmarthen and is a very short length of track.

Not much scenery on Landore loop other than trees and a glimpse of Landore shed. Trip ended at a rather down at heel Llanelli station. Works going on putting up new accessible footbridge, paint peeling and lots of litter.

Some recent-ish trips on some lesser used lines in the south west of Wales. First up the Landore loop line that avoids the reversal into Swansea. Departed Port Talbot Parkway on a class 197.
