Favorite Doctor + favorite Doctor Who Quote.🎨

I adored Jodie Whittaker's portrayal of the Doctor. The bright color palette, creative whimsy, the social awkwardness, caring deeply for her companions despite not always being able to express it. Y'all, I felt seen with this one. 🥹💚

No students showed up for my afterschool art class today, so we're making the most of it with this pollinating Halictid. 🎨

I have an acute aversion to the color orange (especially living in the US right now 🫠) but the underpainting method has been helping brighten midtones/improve realism.

Never in distress.

Don't let their daintiness fool you. Damselflies are voracious predators just like their Odonate relatives, dragonflies. Mosquitoes beware!

Highly recommend plopping down in the middle of a garden and watching the floral visitors for a few hours.

A tiny flying Hercules beetle stamp carved today for my "Intro to Printmaking for Kids" workshop.

I learned that few elementary-aged kids have the patience to sit and focus on carving even a tiny stamp. Now I'm thinking maybe I was a weird kid. 😆

Latest print: A blueberry branch! 🫐

Printing these on wooden bookmarks for my upcoming markets. That totals 4 printed bookmark designs in the collection!

I've made two plant designs in a row, which means an insect will certainly be next on the docket. Maybe a beetle?

🐝Something a bit different for me - resin art!

There were a few bees leftover from my insect illustration workshop so I used them in this "bio-mandala" suncatcher to commemorate a great day with some totally awesome humans.

Last night was the first open studio "Ladies Night" where local women get together weekly to create and connect at Por El Arte Makerspace in downtown Mount Holly, NJ.
Gave me an excuse to start my first big bug painting in awhile!
