This morning George took his supervision of my reading very, very seriously.

It seems that George has good taste in literature.

Jane Austen and @broadviewpress.bsky.social have a tiny new fan.

Timeline cleanse and menagerie news: meet George.

Like his Byronic namesake, he is handsome, curious, and kind of a hot mess.

Experienced cat people, I'd welcome any advice, especially about how to remain productive in the presence of so much cuteness.

If you knew her (or knew of her), you also know that she was full of affection, goofiness, and also flatulence.

My other dog Roland and I will miss her very, very much. In whatever there is in the beyond, may it be full of tummy rubs and treats.

She was the best girl and occasionally a bad dog. (Shout out to the time she consumed an entire stick of butter AND the ceramic butter dish it was in.) She loved many things: getting tummy rubs, giving slobbery kisses, keeping the neighborhood ducks in line, and yelling at UPS delivery drivers.

At 10, Gracie was old for a Dane but lived a full life. She came to me after being thrown out of a U-Haul. In the 5 years she was my companion I’d like to think we tried to make up for whatever came before with love and pampering; though I suspect she was always disappointed by a lack of people food

Gracie (aka The Big Lady, The Baby, The Great Daneosaur, Graciesaurus) died suddenly last night at home. She outweighed me by a lot and has left an equally large hole in my heart.

I basically abandoned that *other* social media space last winter. But in that time of silence, I got tenure!🥂🍾

It seems worth celebrating, which I did on a vacation hike with Roland and Gracie—the two best/worst research assistants ever.
