🌱Good mail day! Getting cozy and dreaming of spring.

This fall’s project was replacing the parking strip with soil and native plants. It was previously a bunch of river rock over plastic sheeting. Hopefully some of these plants survive the deer. 🌱

This was at Dune Peninsula. So special to get to see Southern Resident Killer Whales a few times this year. We had family visiting and everyone got to see the whales.

Beating the winter blues with my first indoor seed starting setup. I learned about these “seed snails” on Farida Sober’s YouTube. I’m not sure if I did them right but it’s fun to see baby cabbages, kale and mustards popping up! I think next time I will leave more slack to add soil once they grow.

One of my favorite gardens: The Japanese Garden at Point Defiance. The shrine was a gift in the ‘60s from Tacoma’s sister city Kitakyushu and was built by Toyosuke Nogami. It is dedicated to the pioneer Issei of Tacoma for their significant contributions to the history of Puget Sound.
