With the growing complexity of society and technology, some kinds of labour have *more* demand than when there was less automation. We don’t see it because a lot of it has been outsourced by colonialism or monopolised by communism.

We have for a long time had the terms blue-collar, white-collar, and pink-collar to subcategorise branches of working livelihood. None of them have gone away; transnational corporations have found means to source some of them in economies that either repress wages or invest in modern skills.

It means you can’t make a living from owning property, so all you have with which to generate revenue is your labour.

(This categorically includes people incapable of working or who can’t find work and depend upon welfare or charity.)
