humans have orlesianized her name and she went by "adeline" for a long time but after connecting with velanna and starting to unpack her identity goes back to adahlen. i think anders coined "addy" and she wears it with honor. unlike adeline this is a nickname given with love. addy the best ever

she knew keeper magic and healing and then learned arcane warrior skills when on the run to swordfight and be a less obvious mage. she learned of anders' situation, went "uh. not good" and taught him that as well. she became sort of a big sister figure and he thinks shes the coolest person ever

vigils keep team sort of becomes her new "clan" she watches over and is being a mom friend to cause thats what she grew up learning to do. she gets together with velanna; i also like her platonic relationship with anders whom shes trying to protect from the templars as they have this in common.

she was the first of her clan, but then split away from the rest of the clan running from templars and lost contact. joined the wardens at some point out of a kind of desperation having nowhere to go. was sent to ferelden as the least provocative option bc they dont consider her fully "orlesian"

allen is together with rin re: elven disrespect, and ani would disapprove for being dismissive of her special interests and her i,aginative outlook on the world. both inquisitors disapprove of being othered from their people, saintified and depersonalized, as well as andrastian ideals forced on them

...unfortunately, ani also happens to be left handed, so after losing her hand to the anchor she also loses her main coping mechanism, which significantly contributes to her post-trespasser mental decline. she didnt even take the initial breakup w/ solas that bad while she still had her art.
