Three doesn't equal 2 of course! I meant something along the lines of 'two good things added together make an excellent thing much greater than the simple addition'. I suspect that this isn't helping. Never mind, it's still a fabulous photo of a beautiful bird.

Just finished Diary of a Pint Sized Farmer, by Sally Urwin. No bonus welsh points but a great read. Writing this has prompted me to find her on here, thanks! @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social

It is real, as are your strength and courage. I wish you both, and much love, as you move through it and back towards the sunshine.

I like it because:
1 It is an owl
2 It is a Carl Bovis photo
When they occur together, these 2 factors have a powerful multiplying effect, such that 1+2 = 1x2 (or something!).

Husband, who knows about Prog Rock (but not really the Pope) says including tubular bells is good, but the lack of a melotron and 5/4 and/or 9/8 time signatures do call the Prog credentials into account!

Agreed, did a History degree, but with a semester in Germany and language component. Not technically a Joint Honours but with the advantages you list, plus travel/study in Europe.

I have two friends who ring bells. They use entirely different notations for the changes and both say they can't really follow the other's, at least not without working out each step painfully rather than simply 'seeing' the pattern. It turns out there are printed books of changes in both formats!

'Bad birthday, wonderful year!'

(A phrase akin to the theatrical one about the bad dress rehearsal, and which I definitely did not just make up. At all.)
