From the editor of The Week magazine, this week's issue, about ICE coming to her town. Just awful. This is NOT my America! Put the smart, moral people in charge, please!!!

Fall molt in progress. Liz Taylor, the Lavender Orpington hen, is re-growing feathers and looks part porcupine with the quills sprouting on her wings. In full feathers, she's a lovely, fluffy hen. She did a big molt, and dropped a lot of feathers at once. We will both be glad when she's done molting

Edge (of Darkness) and I are celebrating 2 years since his gotcha date. He was a youngster. His foster mom doted on him, and it shows. He has 4 legs, but only 3 feet - congenital. Doesn't slow him down. Life with Edge is never dull. He's a BAD cat, but loving and adorable.

Beautiful tabby kittens for adoption. Faithful Friends Gainesville, FL, at Petsmart Archer Rd. I recommend taking 2 to play cat games together, and love you. They're nicely socialized, good play kitties. Gorgeous silver-tipped fur. Interesting stripes + dots. faithfulfriendsrescue.org/available-cats

The news is depressing, so I'm celebrating Caturday and the end of Daylight Savings Time with Wash. I wish I had a tail I could curl like that.

Baby chicks hatched 9/15 are growing fast. They love being out in the small coop and run. They do short hops flying across the run, mock-fight each other, and take dust baths like real hens. Colors are very different than as chicks, and will probably change a bit more as they grow. Pretty pullets.

Friend commented last week about getting her bill for her Obamacare health insurance. rates are going from 433/mo to 2687/mo. That's $32K per year. Practically an annual salary. " THIS is what the Republicans in congress are ok with, from the Big Ugly Bill. No money to help people w health ins.

I was at friends who foster underage kittens for Faithful Friends Rescue. The tabby gang of 4 are 6 weeks old and wild tiger play kitties. It was great to watch them play and hear them thunder across the room. Oh, kittens.

Therapeutic sewing while watching "My Cousin Vinnie". Pattern Emporium's "Be Mine" top w/balloon sleeves in quilting cotton from Hawthorne supply. NY Times said recently that sewing is "in". I never knew it was out. Love that a cropped top makes me look taller instead of my 5'1". #garmentsewing

This once more proves that colleges with sports teams are an athletic franchise, with an education side hustle. Buyout for fired UF coach Napier is $21 MILLION. Glad America knows what's worth funding. We are a crazy country. Follow the $.

Fun inflatables at the protest, like this pig and unicorn. Also saw dinosaurs and a crab.

The Gainesville, FL protest was well attended, with many fine posters and costumes, including a giant Trump puppet with accompanying signs and musicians. All present were of one mind about loving America, democracy, and thinking Trump was hurting the country and people. Peaceful. Heartening.
