Prescription burns help interrupt a lot of insect life cycles.
It also favors native plants over invasives. Modern lifestyle has cut off natural fire cycles the forests evolved with. Altho one must work with the local fire department and neighbors so everyone is on the same page.

It's good of you to not be hypocritical about it, but you're still obligated unless they took an axe to you or something.
Otherwise, like insurance for a car, elder care's part of the ticket price to the grand adventure called Life.

Same reason it's all our jobs to care for parents. Ours weren't nice. Theirs weren't nice. You likely won't be nice. You don't have to do it yourself, but you have to know it's being done.
You don't have to go to parties on command tho. You just have to be sure they aren't dying alone or afraid.
