Swing district Republicans face Sophie's choice: follow Trump off a cliff, or split with him to save their own careers. Democrats win by forcing it.

Now it's time for Democrats to build on the momentum and push Trump and his Congressional sycophants on the shutdown. Democrats must hold the line on ACA subsidies and ensure that government employees get paid for the time lost in the shutdown. It's the right thing to do, morally and politically.

Republicans have no real plans to govern. It's all the whims and wishes of an increasingly unhealthy Donald Trump.

Democrats must keep the pressure on. A relentless focus on Trump’s inability to manage the economy and how he’s screwing over the working and middle classes will win next year.

Trump is poison and incredibly unpopular. And in Trump fashion, he’s blaming the shutdown and not himself this morning.
