She/her.
Why has Sarah Kendzior been suspended, @support.bsky.team ? Bring her back. This platform needs her and there is no apparent justification for removing her account.

In a world littered with AI slop, both-sides-ism, and dehumanization, Coviello's LitHub piece is a little sip of tonic. Recommended read.

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Mayor-Elect Mamdani has such a gorgeous ring to it!!!!

We did it. The entire movement behind @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social 's campaign did it!
I love you, NYC.

Well, animal welfare is political, but my fur niece didn’t vote-- I did. But she's cuter than I am, so she gets the honor.

In contrast, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social 's campaign is closing with community and pluralist joy. I canvassed today and so many people we met on the street looked at our Mamdani materials and broke out into smiles. It's the polar opposite of what Dean Obeidallah writes about in this great essay.

NYC! Voted early this week, and it felt amazing to cast a ballot for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social.

Vote early to confront this national cast of darkness and violence and turn our city towards joy and community.

(Also--a special thank you to the kind and spirited poll workers for their work.)

This scene has stayed in my mind for seven years because it's the apt question for situations like these.

Today is the 4th anniversary of the @cftchange.bsky.social . To celebrate, we are launching our framework, "Narrative Infrastructure for Narrative Power."

This is the uptown side, btw.
Annoying.

Walking around my beloved NYC from one UNGA side event to the next and each time I look up, it irritates me that somehow developers have been allowed to put up buildings obstructing the iconic views of the ESB from both uptown and downtown.

Who let this happen, NYC architecture Bluesky?

Rest in peace, Robert Redford.

I'm feeling his loss very keenly today. He created space in the world for film to be a force for social and political change and influenced an entire generation of us to use it for influence and humanity.

He was beautiful in so many ways we won't see again soon.

It's hard to choose between Alcaraz and Sinner -- they're both so good and good for the sport -- so happy whenever either wins.

Beautiful game from Alcaraz this time. Well deserved. #USOpen

Hello Singapore.

Arrived here for a convening on politics in the/of the future after a month as a Visiting Research Fellow at MOD in Adelaide.

I'll write more about both experiences -- the learnings and the exchanges-- in the coming weeks.

Hello, Adelaide.

I'm in Adelaide, Australia, as a Visiting Futures Fellow at MOD (Museum of Discovery). I'm here for four weeks for the privilege of knowledge exchange on collective leadership and community narratives for social transformation.

Here is my latest issue of Notes on a Present Future, for those of you who haven't received or read it. The newsletter is periodic and long-form. I've kept it free so far because I think of it as a service to talk about our collective ability to transform our systems.

Good for Amy Sherald indeed, for standing against censorship and hostility and for inclusion and trans visibility.

Also, it's a fabulous painting.

I posted my newsletter "Notes on a Present Future" today after a 6-month hiatus. Amidst our collapses, I kept pushing it back. But the newsletter aims to uplift your work of transformation, so I decided I needed to write it.

(And this is me patting myself on the back about it, sans pink hair bow.)

Five years ago, we launched In Plain Sight: 80 artists and advocates coming together to skytype messages over sites of immigrant detention paired with action for immigrant rights. The project and the work continue, so marking this Independence Day as a day of love and liberation for all.

We did good today, NYC!
❤️ to us.

Now... let's have each other's backs, elect Mamdani as the next mayor of our city, and build on this political sea change. Haven't felt this hopeful in a long time.
