A society has rights only so long as it protects them and fights for them. The second you become ignorant and complacent, you give up your freedoms. And the US has proven that your freedoms can be stripped away within DAYS.

They’ll take away you’re access to everything one needs for a good life (healthcare, education, housing, pension, etc) and only offer it if you join the army, and you’ll still miss the point.

I know that scientifically you can’t do much about a common cold other than rest and drink loads of warm liquid. But is there anything at all I could do to speed it up? Been sick for a week now and I’m SICK of it 🙄

I think a big learning curve for many people in their adolescence/young adulthood is that there are very few real obligations in life. You must/you should do this/be that are part of childhood, but should rarely be retained in adulthood. Realising you owe others very little is liberating

When are book series authors gonna start writing “previously in this series” sections? Especially in fantasy books where plots and worlds are so complex I could reeeeally use a recap.

Given AI may soon perform as well as us on many “intelligent” tasks, have we considered what it’ll do to our value systems? Will our ability to emote become central to our humanity and goodness? Is there a chance we’ll step away from Kant’s paradigm of reason and fall into the trap of our feelings?

Today we went to an art fair in Manchester and I just have to share this incredible artist from Cumbria. Had a short conversation with him and we were both so happy I picked up on his inspiration from Levitan’s depictions of sunny winters that make you feel warm, not cold ❤️
