In the meantime, I have "promoted" Linux Mint and GhostBSD (based on FreeBSD) from my very slow VMs to actual installs on my laptop. Or more specifically, a couple of my USB drives. Mint was wonderfully trivial to set up, GhostBSD needed some initial tinkering but I got it working!

With how user-hostile YouTube (Google) has become over the past year (plus generally being a time-waster), I've decided to do a data export, deduplicate my watch history, "watch later", and liked videos. And now I have most of these videos saved locally. Thanks, yt-dlp!
