Would love a built-in modem of course — but this has been working for now, with the downside that you need a cable and have to plug it in.

@marcoarment.bsky.social Recently ended up in situation where I had to rely on my iPhone as hotspot for weeks w/no alternative. Never worked correctly, kept disconnecting. Once plugged in via (in my case) Lightning to USB-C, Wi-Fi disabled, and used as a network device, it has been rock solid.

It already exists, it is called Web3, and absolutely nobody is making money off it
