That's good. Mine got a bit more protective of his surroundings as he got older/more comfortable. I used to lay on the sofa with bits of chicken in my hand and he'd gradually come over to get some. Yeah just takes time.

Reminds me so much of my rescue dog Snowy (Romanian). Took weeks to really gain his trust. Now he's a big baby. Hasn't been without issues, and still working through some, especially outside and people entering the house.
