Made it to the Air Medical Transport Conference in Omaha. It will be interesting to see how my presentation on the rise of vaccine preventable diseases and managing these patients in transport will be received.

Made the trek to New Orleans to participate in the legislative general assembly of ENA. Once again advocating that membership and classes are unaffordable for nurses in developing nations.

Over the last few days, the RN manager for the ED resigned and 1/3 of the staff ED nurses have also resigned. This is not good.

I’m at a loss. Today our colleagues at Bernard Mevs, one of the few hospitals still open in Port-au-Prince was attacked and set on fire. When will the rest of the world do something? When will the US do something to help? My heart continues to break for Haiti.

Great. Today there is a lot of civil unrest and gang activity. Images and videos are coming out that a Spirt airplane was shot at as it was coming into Haiti today, and they diverted to the DR after declaring an emergency. Now all flights have been cancelled. So much for getting meds here this week.
