As twilight set in, the reflections in the windows on the cottages fell away, slowly revealing the dioramas inside that had been there all day, but #unseen.

Life’s been a bit hectic.
It won’t slow down anytime soon, either, so needing to adjust, reclaim my mornings, strive for more balance.
The other day I worked until sunset, but at least I stopped to notice the sunset.
That’s a start.

The voice seems to come from the middle of the lake.
Deep, #sonorous, echoing… beckoning.
Squinting, I see a swirl, a cloud, a foggy mist hovering there.
I set my phone down and wade into the water, clothes and all, and I don’t return until evening, with no memory of the day.

Moved house this week and into a new spot. So many memories, parties, moments… feeling nostalgic but also blessed for what the future holds.

We told ourselves we could make this happen. We saved, scrimped, said no to friends (a lot) as we lived by the mantra, “Cottage First”.
After two months of long, hard days, we are on holiday and can finally enjoy the home we’ve built and the #promise to ourselves we’ve kept.

The days have been long, up at five, working until midnight. Lots to be done on the property and we’ll be here most of the summer, but it’s starting to come together.
I’ve learned that roosters, unlike the movies, don’t only call once.
