Plebian Trash. Not always safe for work. Geek girl. Gamer. Edward Snowden is still my celebri-crush.
Girl same.I get angry too.We all want a quick fix and there isn't one and we are tired, beat down, and suspicious of others. It's a natural reaction. Nothing gets fixed, we are worried about our loved ones who are in marginalized communities, and we have 4 very long years ahead of us. It's all good

Omg I remember this. I feel that so many of them are just massively unqualified to write legislation about some things. They have such limited understanding and it's embarrassing
January 20, 2025 at 1:33 AM
Yep that's the exact one. I felt like 2016 groundhog day... and now I look at everyone suspiciously. Like, did you do this?

I love tech as well but that issue could be helped if we stopped electing gently alive corpses to office.

Half of them probably still use AOL

Lmaooooooo. Rumble sent me.

One of my best friends lives in the UK and we had many wine soaked venting nights discussing brexit. Same feel as november of last year. She stayed up very late with me as the returns came in...and the reality sunk in.

It'll likely be a moot point. There will be a divestiture to some inner circle teump sycophant and they'll break it.

And just because I'm extremely grossed out by you assuming I share Maga views, I want free college free healthcare paid family leave mandatory 4 weeks minimum vacation 50% corporate tax rate pro choice forced employee stock ownership for companies of a certain size. The list could go on...

Tech has always been difficult to regulate or control. There is a fine line there between moderation and censorship. Getting it right is likely a fools errand.
January 20, 2025 at 1:09 AM
There are so many parallels to be drawn between what's happened at the UK and here so it's only natural I think.
January 20, 2025 at 1:07 AM
Point taken...not that it usually works but would be effort. The problem is that the alt right has been cultivating a media ecosystem for decades and we are now seeing its fruits. There are no quick fixes to that.

Deep down I think a majority of Americans have the same goals. But the last 8 years have made everyone very nervy and suspicious. Sign of the times I think unfortunately
January 20, 2025 at 1:03 AM
Omg the face eating leopards party is genius.
January 20, 2025 at 1:00 AM
Not to throw your own words back at you but...people should be using their critical thinking and vetting and etc. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater isn't the answer.
January 20, 2025 at 12:59 AM
Sanewashing is one of my favorite new sayings.
January 20, 2025 at 12:57 AM
You're not wrong we do live in a currency exchanging world. However I'm going to give a very cynical look at anyone who has shareholders to answer to. When money is the motivation it usually turns out to be the only motivation and truth doesn't matter
January 20, 2025 at 12:55 AM
And those I read. But the majority of news has turned into entertainment and its gross
January 20, 2025 at 12:50 AM
Since my answer wouldn't fit in 300 characters I'll give a vast oversimplification. I do not want to turn on a news channel when all they do is praise GOP. I also don't want to turn one one that spends all their time bashing GOP. I don't want their opinions. I have my own. Just the facts please
January 20, 2025 at 12:47 AM
Sme = subject matter expert. It's a designation that is given to people in their field by people in their field. Peer reviewed and all that.
January 20, 2025 at 12:42 AM
If your lack of comprehension makes you think so.
January 20, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Bias comes before. Not after. Facts don't care who agree with them.
January 20, 2025 at 12:39 AM
As for source vetting, I don't trust many of the sources anymore. Anything for profit making billions of dollars has another motive there.
January 20, 2025 at 12:38 AM
That's the point. You can find facts and information everywhere without having to consume a news channel. SMEs are a favorite of mine. They write many things that wouldn't be typically seen as news but are very relevant.
January 20, 2025 at 12:37 AM
You should have stopped at empirically factual. It doesn't matter if a side or the other agrees with it.

News is now a serious business that needs consumers to line their pockets. It's all click bait and headlines and opinion pieces.
January 20, 2025 at 12:34 AM
I remember many decades ago watching the news. There was no opinion that went along with it. I want facts only and I'll form my own opinion. You can't find that anymore. Some boring dude just reading stuff.
