After several months, my first lolita dress is finally here!!! After admiring this fashion from afar (and up close) for so many years, finally having a dress in my possession is an incredible feeling. I still need at least a petticoat before I can wear it out in public, though.

Finally, after many months of back-and-forth between me, the adoption agency, and my landlord, I'm very close to having a cat! This sweet tuxedo boy will be coming to live with me on Tuesday! I think I'm going to rename him Gomez, though.

Because I'm me, I have some long, rambly thoughts about #DisabilityPrideMonth
Instead of celebrating Colonizer Day, I want to take a moment to talk about how today is the first day of Disability Pride month! Coming to terms with being disabled has been, and continues to be, an ongoing process for me. The initial diagnosis was a real mixed bag. On the one hand, it was nice to finally have words to describe what was going on with me. On the other hand, I couldn't help but cry, probably because I'd seen my mom's struggles with it and didn't want to end up like her, or worse, like my dad was in his final days. Physio has been a huge help. It's improved my balance tremendously. I've also started on medication, but it's hard to say yet how much that's helped me. I should probably start doing yoga at some point. Anyways, that's my long, rambling thoughts about being disabled.
