Hai! ^^ 🐸 I am an activist & writer indulging in the fight against inequality & oppression 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
Here, my love, you'll find a smol blend of things I have interest in, including: nature, 2SLGBTQIA+ history, feminism, poetry, le spiritual thoughts, & memes!:D 🔞
Thus, according to Jennie June, In New York during the victorian & edwardian era, there was both outside hostility (duh), aswell as infighting & transmisogyny in our community & with gay men (this was a time when the lines between, say, a transfem & a fem-pres. gay man were more blurry term wise)

June had her views shaped by Havelock Ellis & Krafft-Ebbing, though STARKLY disagreed w Richie on da whole 'mentally ill, immoral' thing; whilst unsaid—since main focus on ultra-androgynes (ess. transfem+ & fem-lean bigender people) like herself—same is implied for transmasc+ people & lesbian women.

I've struggled figuring out where non-binary & genderfluid people would've been classified, though I've found that the strict definitions, stereotypes & expectations of femininity masculinity—& 'woman & man' may've made it much harder back then to actually find their most authentic & true self :/

Mollies in 1700s Britain: “On Sunday Night the 14th of Nov. I went to the Prisoner's House in Holbourn. I found near Men 50 there, making Love to one another as they call'd it. Sometimes they'd sit in anothers laps, use their Hands indecently, Dance & make Curtsies & mimick the Language of women”

I feel the same way about the Statue of Liberty, which was gifted to the US like 30 years before women could vote; universities were off-limits, couldn't strive for jobs without being ridiculed for not following every other woman as a 15 year old housewife with 12 kids, dying at 27 from childbirth.

Bad fates were sadly a commonality for trans+ people in medieval Europe, and have forced me, on numerous occasions, into a total bawl...

A French trans+ man mentioned by Montaigne (Michel? 1533 - 1592) who lived as a man, married a woman, & later recognized & exposed by someone from his hometown... He was given two options—to return living as a woman or to die... He chose to die.

-The Origin and Development of the Moral Ideas' (2 vol, 1906–1908)

I will be adding links, aswell, to all books, though it would delay the release of this were I to do so now rather than after... Which I do not want to do :>

The Racist Roots of Marijuana Prohibition
Southern states became worried about the dangers this drug would bring and newspapers began calling Mexican cannabis use a “marijuana menace.”
