I think having some understanding of how art is created and how art commissions work is the biggest defense against scammers. I'm hoping the art community can gently help people understand when something is faked or A I. It takes somewhat of a trained eye unfortunately..

As someone who buys / subscribes to courses, I would be very upset if I found out the instructors were not paid..

Agreed. I prefer weekly prompts. I could not plan a piece, sketch, then ink, every day for 31 days straight at a good quality. Also, you run the risk of injury. I injured the tendon in my drawing arm in July and it took over a month to heal. Not worth the risk.

I think we may need another LBX for smaller artists / illustrators / concept artists. 🤔

I'm really hoping conventions make an effort to bring new artists in. 🙏 It's very hard to compete with the top artists even when you are an amazing artist. I think attendees would appreciate seeing new people too. 🤍

I think it's because a lot of illustration falls into the 'kid lit' or editorial world?
There is LightBox Expo (LBX) which is catered more towards the entertainment industry (films, animation, games, TV) but it also includes illustrators.
